Start Date: 2021
Project Length: 4 Years
Objectives:

Use RNA-seq for obtaining inventories of genes expressed in three wireworm pests. ID of potential target genes specific to each of the species and design dsRNAs for knockdown. Optimize CPP-mediated gene expression knock-down and suppression of feeding to ID best dsRNAs. Demonstrate RNAi protection of wheat seeds and seedlings in controlled environment.
