Start Date: 1991
Project Length: 3 Years
Objectives:

To evaluate foreign oat genotypes , including lines with germplasm introgressed from Avena sterilis and Avena maroccana, as higher groat protein sources for western Canadian oat. To transfer 1.0-2.0% higher groat protein to high quality genotypes adapted to western Canada to be made available to other breeding projects and, if warranted, advanced for testing in the development of varieties.
