Start Date: 2024
Project Length: 3 Years
Objectives:

Survey for the occurrence of soybean root rot pathogens in Manitoba from 2023-2025. Study the etiology and impact of new and emerging soybean root rot pathogens (e.g., charcoal rot). Study the impact of ineffective Rps genes in combination with seed treatment and field tolerance on yield in P. sojae infested fields. Discover root rot pathogens of soybean utilizing advanced molecular analyses (e.g., digital PCR and/or quantitative PCR) with highly precise quantification of target DNA.
