Total WGRF Funding: $76,048
Co-Funders: Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada, Alberta Grains, Brewing and Malting Barley Research Institute, Manitoba Crop Alliance, Saskatchewan Barley Development Commission
Start Date: 2023
Project Length: 5 Years
Objectives:

The aim of the project is to evaluate the benefits of urea treated with a nitrification inhibitor (NI), eNtrench (a.i. nitrapyrin) applied at recommended and reduced rates compared with untreated urea, on agronomic performance of feed and malt barley varieties, soil microbiome and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Western Canada.
