Start Date: 2024
Project Length: 4 Years
Objectives:

1. Screen a diverse collection of 250 Brassica napus genotypes (along with appropriate controls) for verticillium stripe resistance using accurate quantitative PCR (qPCR).
2. Genome-wide association analyses (GWAS) to identify verticillium stripe (VS) resistance QTLs.
3. Development of KASP marker around the identified polymorphisms to enable the introgression of newly identified verticillium stripe resistance alleles into elite Western Canadian breeding material and cultivars.
