Objectives:
To utilize proven molecular genetic breeding tools to develop germplasm with high value traits that will strengthen the wheat breeding programs. To reduce the time to market for registered cultivars through the application of doubled haploid production. To apply plant pathology principles to the selection of breeding materials for improved disease resistance. To acquire, adopt and adapt trait related DNA markers and associated technological genetic breeding tools to develop germplasm with high value traits that will strengthen the wheat breeding programs. To validate trait related DNA markers with germplasm to maximize breeding efficiency.
