Objectives:

To improve the genetic potential of five spring wheat classes: Canada Western Red Spring, Canada Western Amber Durum, Canada Prairie Spring Red/Canada Northern Hard Red, and Canada Western Hard White. To establish and maintain effective early generation screening nurseries for Fusarium Head Blight (FHB), leaf rust, stem rust, and stripe rust. To screen harvested samples for DON mycotoxin. To validate and implement marker assisted selection and genomic selection programs.
