Start Date:
2024
Project Length:
5 Years
Objectives:
This project will generate canola lines with multiple R genes against blackleg and compare the durability of these lines with single R gene lines. New sources of genetically resistant canola lines will be identified and used in breeding against VS disease.
Main objectives include:
1) Explore the Lm (Leptosphaeria maculans) and Vls (Verticillium longisporum) compound effect on a susceptible canola cultivar.
2) Determine the severity of VS disease on canola plants pre-inoculated with an incompatible Lm isolate.
