Start Date: 2019
Project Length: 3 Years
Objectives:

To determine the field performance of farmer-selected wheat, oats and potato lines grown under organic production in different areas of Canada. To evaluate farmer-selected wheat and oats for resistance to FHB, leaf diseases and response to excess water and drought. To gain an understanding of the role of the farmer's selection approach on genetic progress in wheat and oat populations which could lead to the development of a new participatory crop breeding model for Canada.
