Objectives:
To develop a new, rapid, reliable and inexpensive greenhouse screening technique for aluminum tolerance in oat. To identify new genes that confer aluminum tolerance in oats. to determine the heritability, mode of inheritance, type of gene action and number of genes that govern the expression of aluminum tolerance in oat. To incorporate the aluminum tolerance genes into adapted oat cultivars.
