i) Determine the genetic and physiological basis for reduced sawfly cutting in hollow stemmed germplasm.
ii) Develop DNA markers to support selection of reduced stem sawfly cutting in spring and durum wheat.
iii) Apply DNA markers to stack reduced-cutting genes with the solid stemmed phenotype in spring and durum wheat.
