Start Date:
2022
Project Length:
3 Years
Objectives:
Collect Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lini (Fol) isolates across the flax growing areas of SK and MB and characterize the pathogenicity of isolates. Sequence the selected isolates with Next Generation Sequencing and analyze genomes for association with pathogenicity and location. Develop PCR assay(s) to differentiate Fol isolates from other Fusarium spp. and non-pathogenic F. oxysporum isolates in plant and soil samples to replace the time-consuming phenotypic screening test.
