Start Date: 2013
Project Length: 2 Years
Objectives:

To determine if feeding sows diets enriched with omega-3 fatty acids can replace the use of antibiotics in starter diets when piglets are weaned at either 3 or 4 weeks of age. To determine if altering sow nutrition by including omega-3 fatty acids will produce healthier piglets at weaning, and how those piglets perform when compared to pigs fed a starter diet containing antibiotics.
